Last month, I started following a schedule that will allow me to waste less time. I didn’t have a hard time flipping the switch because I kept in mind the goals I needed to accomplish. I was able to follow the schedule for two weeks, although there were days when I got home 30 minutes late because of the traffic or I had to finish some work at the office.
And then the God of Time started screwing with me.

Construction at Marcos Alvarez Avenue
The picture above is the construction of the bridge at Marcos Alvarez Avenue. Right now, they’re fixing the left side (north bound), so only the right side is passable by vehicles. The vehicles coming from Las Pinas and Cavite take turns every 30 minutes or sometimes, 1.5 to 2 hours to pass through this bridge. No exaggeration.
For the last 2 weeks, I’ve experienced 4 hours of travel going home: 2 hours from The Fort to SM Southmall + 2 hours from SM Southmall to our house. It’s very exhausting even if I’m just sitting in the jeepney. There were times when I can’t even sit properly because the jeepney is packed with passengers. Sometimes, when there is enough light and I have enough energy, I take advantage of the traffic to finish the books I’m reading.
Starting tomorrow, I’m going to flip the switch again. I will adjust my schedule 1 hour earlier by waking up at 4:30am. If my experiment is successful, I should be home by 6pm or earlier.
